At Valle Road Collective, we are committed to supporting humanitarian acts that contribute to central missions of equality, diversity, and social justice. As a multiculturally-owned and operated company, we recognize the importance of bringing communities together to promote dialogue and enact systemic change. In committing a percentage of profits to a diverse group of organizations actively making our communities better, we have chosen to be actively part of the solution to make our world a better place. Our commitment to social action influences both our designs and our selection of charity partners. This commitment is foundational to our goal of being a brand that is authentic, aware, and always encouraging our community and clients to learn more about themselves and the world we share.

Black Lives Matter.

Walking the Valle Road and being a renegade also means taking a stand. Valle Road Collective believes in celebrating diversity, being openly and proudly anti-racist and anti-sexist, and doing the hard work that it will take to change global narratives of justice. As individuals and as a company, we have been watching and learning and looking for meaningful ways to engage during this difficult time. Our sentiments are fully in support of the peaceful and meaningful protests in support of recognizing the systemic racism that led to the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless lives that have been lost to systemic violence against the black community. Black Lives Matter. And we recognize that we must all do better to be strong and meaningful allies.

We support the actions of protesters calling for justice in all 50 states and 18 countries and also recognize that revolution has many forms. From the streets, to social media feeds, to classrooms, to living rooms across the nation, we hope that all of you are finding meaningful ways to become better - to learn, to grow, and to support our communities.

In reflecting on this important moment in history and in celebrating Pride this summer, we are proud to support the following organizations with our current collections: the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition.

  • The ACLU: Currently, the ACLU is actively working to change the criminal justice system to promote equality and end police brutality. Their work has been foundational in protecting First Amendment rights and equal protection under the law. Learn more about their mission or donate directly at: https://www.aclu.org/
  • Black Trans Advocacy Coalition: This Texas-based non-profit serves the black trans community nationwide and globally by working to improve the Black trans experience by overcoming violence and challenging injustice. By focusing on making systemic changes in employment, housing, and health care, the BTAC seeks a better world for Black trans communities. Learn more about their goals and donate directly at: https://blacktrans.org/

Valle Road Collective originally launched as a COVID relief fundraiser in April 2020.  The initial Relief Campaign debuted four designs with 100% of profits going to support the humanitarian work of  World Central Kitchen. While we hope these designs bring a smile to your face and encourage you to show the best part of yourself, we are also committed to making sure we continue to support communities in need.

Relief Collection: World Central Kitchen

  • World Central Kitchen is a global hunger relief organization that provides food security to communities impacted by disasters. They have been responding to the global pandemic since the early days of the crisis, when they deployed members of their organization to feed people who were quarantined on the cruise ship docked off the coast of Japan. As part of their efforts, they have been steadily feeding first responders and health care workers and offering free meals to communities in need. Since its inception, WCK has provided more than 16 million meals across the globe to some of the world’s most vulnerable populations. In addition, WCK has already served over 3 million meals in the United States in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Learn more by visiting www.wck.org

Isolation Collection: James Beard Foundation Relief Fund

  • The James Beard Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to celebrate, nurture, and honor chefs and other leaders making America's food culture more delicious, diverse, and sustainable. In response to COVID-19, the James Beard Foundation Food Relief Fund provides critical financial assistance to small, independent restaurants to keep them in business.  Like all small businesses, independently owned restaurants, bars and other food and beverage operations are strong economic drivers. The culinary industry generates  $1 trillion in revenue per year and employs nearly 16% of the American workforce. Furthermore, these foundational businesses support countless other small businesses, putting nearly 60% of their revenue back into local communities. Restaurants feed America. And now it’s time for us to feed them. To learn more about the mission of the James Beard Foundation or to support directly, visit: www.jamesbeard.org

Black Visions Collective

This Minnesota based non-profit works to develop black leaders within communities to promote a message of autonomy and an investment in creating social, political, and economic change. Firm supporters of Black Lives Matter, this organization has been instrumental in recent calls for system change and racial equality. Learn more about their mission or donate directly at: https://www.blackvisionsmn.org/
